Drive
By Stan Snow

When I was a teenager growing up in California I used to go to Santa Cruz beach. I would look out over the ocean and dream about what my life was going to be like. When Jed and I were musicians on the road together at 19 years of age, we used to talk about how, when we became successful, we would drive our convertible Ferraris down the Pacific Coast Highway, our blonde babes sitting next to us. Ha! : )

A few years ago, I happened to be back in the Santa Cruz area. When I was starting to write new material for this album, I was reflecting back to those moments on the beach and came up with the idea for this song. Jed plays some amazing piano on this tune. Really proud of him.

The sun rides high on the western sky
Waves roll in from the sea
Drifting back to forgotten shores
The road ahead is calling me

Drive into the vertical horizon
Until you can see
What there is to see

Don’t look down until you can be certain
What your finding out
Is what the soul’s about

Wind and rain comin’ down
Keep your head above your darkest fears and
Drive

Fortune smiles upon the strongest will
But only time can heal the pain
Fallen down we all get up again
Unless we lose, to find our way

Drive into the vertical horizon
Until you can see
What there is to see

Don’t look down until you can be certain
What your finding out
Is what the soul’s about

Wind and rain comin’ down
Keep your head above your darkest fears and
Drive
